Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? We've got answers.

1How long do I have access to the course?
You will have complete access to all course materials, updates, and the exam simulator for 1 full year (365 days) from the date of purchase.
2Do I need to install any software?
No! The entire Drone Kiwi platform is 100% web-based. You can study from your laptop, tablet, or smartphone — all you need is an internet connection.
3What if I fail the simulator mock exam?
Don't worry! You can retake the final simulator exam as many times as you like. We actually encourage it, so you feel fully confident before taking your official EASA or FAA test.
4Are the materials up to date?
Absolutely. Aviation laws change, and we stay on top of them. Our current curriculum was fully reviewed and updated on February 1, 2026.
5What is the difference between the EASA A1/A3 and A2 courses?
The A1/A3 is the foundational certificate required for almost all drone operations in Europe. The A2 is an advanced qualification that allows you to fly heavier drones closer to uninvolved people. Note: You must hold an A1/A3 certificate before you can apply for the A2.
6Do I take the official government exam directly on your website?
No. Drone Kiwi provides comprehensive preparatory training and a highly realistic exam simulator. Once you consistently pass our simulator, you will be fully prepared to take the official exam through your country's National Aviation Authority (for EASA) or an approved testing center (for FAA).
7Do I need to own a drone before starting the course?
Not at all! In fact, we highly recommend taking the course before buying a drone. Understanding the complex regulations and different drone categories will help you make a much smarter purchasing decision.
8Are the lessons live or pre-recorded?
All lessons are pre-recorded. This allows you to learn completely at your own pace and on your own schedule. You can pause, rewind, re-watch the videos, and read the text notes whenever it is convenient for you.
9Where will my drone license be valid?
If you pass the EASA exam, your certificate will be legally valid across all European Union member states. If you pass the FAA Part 107 exam, your commercial license is valid throughout the entire United States.
10What if I struggle with a specific module or topic?
Our course materials are specifically designed to break down complex aviation laws into simple, easy-to-understand concepts. Plus, you have full access for an entire year (365 days), meaning you can revisit challenging topics and retake the module quizzes as many times as you need to build your confidence.
